2015 NFL thread

Nope. Just time for the "Manning on a Pedestal" crowd to see what the rest of us have been seeing all season. Manning is fucking DONE! First it was Montana as a Chief. Then it was Favre as a Viking and a Jet. Now it's Manning as a Bronco. Formerly great quarterbacks becoming washed-up has-beens right before the fans eyes. I just hope Kubiak has the guts to pull the plug before Manning manages to tank the season for us.

Peyton Manning continues his downward spiral, as predicted and expected. What a dissapointing way to break the all time passing yard record: 20 attempts, 5 completions, 4 interceptions, 35 yards, 0 touchdowns, 0.0 QBR, benched, and the Broncos lose 29 - 13 to the Kansas City Chiefs.

There is no point in beating records if you can't get the wins either.

I think humans in any given subject don't know when to quit. Getting it right sometimes or having a good run for a while, doesn't mean the ride does not end. He could have quit after the Colts and would have still been a great QB. He can also go on to be a coach somewhere, and his tv add deals alone have him set for life.

The human ego is probably the most destructive force in evolution. Yea this is just sports, but still.

I disagree. He got to the Super Bowl the year before last; that's a feat worth remarking on. He was still a great QB at that point, but after his performance in that game, I think his confidence took a hit, and I don't blame him. His team were overwhelmingly the favorite to win, and instead it was a blowout.

Add to that the multiple injuries at his age and it was only a matter of time before his career ended. I think last nights game might well have been his last as a starter. When your backup outperforms you in only a quarter and a half of game time, surely it's time to hand over the reigns?

I think he'll get the start against Chicago next week, but they'll be quicker to pull him if he's suckling as bad as he did agai n st the Chiefs. Hopefully he'll throw a couple early picks and get benched quick and for good. Then we can finally see what we've got in Osweiler before his rookie contract is over. From what we saw against the Chiefs, he's a better fit for Kubiak's offense.

With a torn plantar fascia in his left foot? The Broncos would be insane / cruel to let him play in that condition. I wouldn't put it past them, but he's already got the passing yards record, and he's throwing interceptions like crazy at this point. Let the man rest.

Ahh... I wasn't aware of the severity of his injury.

Yeah, sounds like his career is over though I wouldn't be surprised to see him trying out with other teams next year.
