I have an aunt in Ashland a sister north of Spokane that I owe visits to along with a couple of cyber gardening friends to see. We'll definitely do it and would love to meet you and Kitty. I've been thinking of renting one of those teardrop trailers for such a trip. It'd be a blast.
That would be fun! There's so many cool places to camp in the NW, I imagine north and central Cal ate the same way. I was born in your neck of the woods (Redwood City) but I haven't been back in decades, except for a weekend with my precious in Crescent City some time ago.

Yeah I think California has a lot of beautiful places but I like the NW too. It is always so green and treesy. And Portland has every bit as much to offer for foodies and we always enjoy wondering around that big old book store .. name escapes me right not.
If you guys ever get down this way you're always welcome to crash here. We've got a guest room (with a bathroom I'm remodeling). Of course the place is a hundred year old warehouse with zero architectural interest but we call it home.

Powell's is the bookstore you're thinking of.
I think it'd be fun to do an AF west coast campout - cept I don't know how many campers there are and it's not like there's a lot of us.

True and getting fewer all the time. Sleep is iffy enough without ditching the termperpedic mattress, power for the CPAP machine and three pillows. But I still like the idea .. if I can get the physical requirements met.
Powell's is the one alright. What is it, an entire city block - or two?

I think it's most of one block, on three floors? Parking is on the same block. It's yuuuuuge.

Good luck, Judy. It's great that Chthullluuuu (never can spell that right) has not only gone a year with out smokes but is also losing weight. My just younger brother died in his sleep from a heart attack at 47. He was a heavy smoker as well as greatly over weight who smoke more when he was trying to diet and ate more when he was trying to kick the smoking. My wife decided to quit smoking when she got pregnant almost 40 years ago. She is very happy about that.

I tried and tried to do it for myself but couldn't seem to kick it! In the end it took the prod of doing it for Esquilax to quit. If he was going to fight the good fight with me, I was going to do my part too! Cuz, it's silly to try so hard to stay alive and yet smoke at the same time, y'know?
I just know I wouldn't have quit unless it was for someone else. I have huge respect for people that can find the resolve on their own!
If I were to create self aware beings knowing fully what they would do in their lifetimes, I sure wouldn't create a HELL for the majority of them to live in infinitely! That's not Love, that's sadistic. Therefore a truly loving god does not exist!
