Ghost Reps

RE: Ghost Reps
I hadn't thought in those terms, because (perhaps) I am an atheist. But it makes sense Xians would use it like that.

The phrase "going south" always makes me smile. In general, do you think this used as a reference to hell?

I think quite a few people regard the south as hell.  At least, in the U.S. of the U.S. south.

But no, I don't think it is generally thought of literally as a reference to hell.

There are no standards for reputation points.  Anyone can give them to anyone else for any reason, or no reason, at all.  So it does not really mean much to have reputation points; just that people decided to give them to one.

In my case, when I first arrived, I gave out a couple of reputation points before I had a good grasp of the difference between them and kudos.  I would not have given some of them if I had been more aware of their difference.  But as I do not know to whom I have given reputation points, I have not removed them from everyone who I would remove them from if I could remember them.  Also, I forget about reputation points and do not give them out to people in any consistent way.  It is more a matter of whim than of policy.

Also, it seems that none of my reputation points are from someone who is banned.  I think one of you should give me a reputation point and then get yourself banned, so I can have one from a banned member.  Come on, you know you want to.

I've always wanted to get myself banned from here.

Okay.  Step one:  Add to my reputation.  Step two:  Look carefully at the rules and try violating as many of them as you possibly can.  That should take care of this.

OK, cool. :p What should I say in both of your rep areas?

RE: Ghost Reps
As for members who have repped here and then 'went south', AFAIK, all their posts are not deleted, threads they started are not deleted, and if AF did so it would be like 'unpersoning' them, and I would not like that.

And I'm a rep whore and you won't erase my reps except over my cold dead body.
