Seriously!? Wow! I would have bet good money against that. I have to wonder if you have self-identity issues. You come across as a very vibrant person in your posts - most definitely extroverted. You arrived on an atheist board as a Catholic and posted a large number of threads. I haven't gathered all the numbers but just going on casual memory, your threads have the highest average amount of participation I can recall on any message board I have ever posted to - and it's a lot. You sure as heck don't come across as introverted here. You are physically very attractive but that doesn't account for it. Pretty dipshits get old really quick - especially with a cerebral group like this.

You're an introvert? I'd hate to say what that makes me: A person in voluntary solitary confinement by comparison.

By the way, I think you'll find most atheists are introverts. Just a prediction though. I would have bet just about ANYTHING against you categorizing yourself as an introvert though so what do I know?

The best way to describe an introvert is someone who uses up energy in social situations, and needs to have adequate quiet/alone time to "recharge," if you will. Introverts also would rather hang out with small groups of close friends rather than large crowds.

Extrovert is the opposite of that. They gain energy from social situations and enjoy being around big crowds of people.

I'm definitely an introvert lol. Talking to people online through written text is completely different because I can think and evaluate things in my mind before I engage in conversation, and I can speak and respond on my own terms. I can't stand small talk. I'd much rather either be super goofy, or talk about things that actually matter. An online forum gives me the control to talk about whatever I want, whenever I want. Smile
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

Ha, I was going to post something similar, as most people don't really know exactly what they are talking about when they use the words. I'm an extrovert.

I am an introvert, though I have no trouble speaking before groups or introducing myself to new people. I just find large groups energy sapping and time spent alone or in the company of one or two energizing.

I am an extrovert. I am at my best as the center of attention.

I also love to be alone. That's less a personality trait than a product of my past.
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

You went to the Naval Academy, which means you're basically a woman.  Wink

I'm missing most of this. Not that I dispute what you say, it just blows me away.

Although I am inherently introverted, I would love to have the skill you have in communicating with people different from yourself that you have. You're very good. You are a very charismatic person and could probably assimilate into almost any group you chose to.

At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'
