Clerk Defies Supreme Court, Refuses Gay Marriage Licenses

I thought the whole deal of putting her in jail was to get her to come to her senses. she can let herself out when she decides to start doing her job again. She needs to be made a proper example of. The thing is, Kim Davis is utterly irrelevant to the case of Kim Davis. As a person she's just an unpleasant face to put on the real issue, which is a government employee refusing to provide a service that the citizens of her county are legally entitled to. So long as that happens, both I and the law couldn't care less about the ignorant bitch; the first court case she lost had the judge give her the option of simply allowing her deputies to issue the marriage licenses, just as the conditions for her release from jail state now. She refused to allow them to do so, forcing her religious beliefs on everyone around her in the process, just as she apparently intends to do once she gets back to work, only now she can be arrested and placed back in jail for multiple counts of contempt of court when she does. I suppose this might be all according to plan for her, since it's apparent that her actual aims are to get everyone to care about her backwards religious beliefs, not to protect the sanctity of her religious convictions. As an unrelated point, one that I've pointed out multiple times in my writings on Davis (check my sig ) does anyone else find it ironic that the person all these conservatives are holding up as an example of government persecution based on religion is a government agent who was persecuting and oppressing others based on her religious beliefs?

I find it odd that people have to fight so hard for every single oppressed group in the country. The US has a history of this stuff, and every single time they eventually get around to acknowledging the rights of blacks, women, interracial couples, immigrants, and now gays. Though in some ways we're still fighting for blacks, as police brutality is still going on. This is supposed to be the land of the free, based on equal rights for everyone. We shouldn't have to do this over and over and over. Unfortunately lofty and noble ideas don't have much impact against the rich and powerful.

Davis has made to much of a spectacle of herself and got to much support to back off. My gut tells me that she will take a stand again. I'll have the popcorn ready bright and early.
What is sad, she's made a name for herself, become a commodity. Next comes money. May never have to work again. Talk show here, appearance there, not for conviction for money. Our country dearly loves a scandal.
Being told you're delusional does not necessarily mean you're mental.
Davis is the Poster Kunt for scripture cherry picking too.
The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.
(My computer skills are rudimentary, if someone wants to take her pic and letter it with something like "Thinks she knows better than JESUS about divorce and remarriage" I'd be mighty beholden)

No, but I do find it ironic that for being such a devout Christian, she has been married four times, and was impregnated by her third husband while she was still with her first. If she wasn't such a preachy cunt, I wouldn't care about that sort of thing, but it looks like she honors the Bible in the breach more than anything, while she preaches it to others. Maybe that was the point. To show other Christians that they don't have to uphold this particular law or any law they feel contradicts their interpretation of the Bible.
The god who allows children to be raped out of respect for the free will choice of the rapist, but punishes gay men for engaging in mutually consensual sex couldn't possibly be responsible for an intelligently designed universe.
