Atheism is probably more popular in Europe where I live than elsewhere. Christianity is very dominant in
South America and Africa and Islam as equally so in Asia and Africa. So with seventy five per cent of the
global population believing in one of the big five religion is not going any where. Though it is not it itself
so much that is the problem as fundamentalism and extremism that are subsets of religion. And also the
proselytising of the big two. These problems reveal a sense of entitlement religion thinks it must possess

I replied: Can I refuse? Because I find the entire concept of vicarious blood sacrifice atonement to be morally abhorrent, the concept of holding flawed creatures permanently accountable for social misbehaviors and thought crimes to be morally abhorrent, and the concept of calling something "free" when it comes with the strings of subjugation and obedience perhaps the most morally abhorrent of all... and that's without even going into the history of justifying genocide, slavery, rape, misogyny, religious intolerance, and suppression of free speech which has been attributed by your own scriptures to your deity. I want a refund. I would burn happily rather than serve the monster you profess to love.

From what I'm to understand a lot of people are non-religious but still believe in a creator.... the whole "this all had to come from something" but they don't follow a religious tradition because of the how traditional religion wants to control your life.

That does not ,technically, make them atheists.

However as things go these people do stray far from the flock.
