Just remember according to the fairy tale in Revelation Jesus shows up and starts torturing everyone with weird bugs.  He wrecks the environment and billions of people get killed in a global war.  Satan, the false prophet, and the beast try to help humans resist the homicidal maniac and his minions.  In the end the homicidal maniac Jesus kills all life and destroys the planet.  Do you want to collaborate with the mass murderer and his minions or do you want to join the resistance and at least die a free man?  He still kills you if you help him kill everyone else.

Even Mass Effect 2 wasn't above this.

The Republican party has not gotten that memo apparently.

Oh, I'm sure there are plenty of people in the GOP who are shitting bricks over it because their core audience is rapidly going away, but most of them are delusional religious idiots who can't imagine losing the political and social power they've enjoyed for centuries, that's why anything that restricts that power now brings crying and gnashing of teeth and claims of religious discrimination.  Yes, equality under the law is discriminatory.
There is nothing demonstrably true that religion can provide mankind that cannot be achieved as well or better through secular means.

Why? I think religion is doing a fine job of phasing itself out.

Well, it's true, with all of the Xtians out there making idiots of themselves - - they are their worst enemy.  (I turned on the TV to Judge Judy for a moment, to catch the end of a case: a woman had waged a smear campaign against some neighbors because they were "living in sin".  JJ didn't buy her protests of ignorance, and just being a good Xtian witness, and the best part was the woman ranting and raving about how Jesus is going to come soon and smite all the unbelievers.  Ha.)

But seriously, here in the US . . . we have most of the Republican candidates running on a Conservative Religious platform.  Ben Carson has been saying he'll return the country to "one Nation, under GOD"; Mike Huckabee helping to get that idiot Kim Davis out of jail, Ted Cruz, Rick Santorum . . . even TRUMP has said that while she should have done her job, putting her in jail was an attack on Christianity.  Conservative protestant churches across the country don't just want to abolish the separation of church and state - - they pray daily for a Theocracy, with Jesus as supreme ruler.   So yeah, I'm with brian1570.  Plastering our favorite memes across facebook sounds like a good idea to me.  Anything to counteract the crazies.
