I can't leave him in a shelter, but I may look into it and see if there are any other options.
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

freedomfromfallacy » I'm weighing my tears to see if the happy ones weigh the same as the sad ones.
We've always had rescues or hand me down kitties in the house except for the first one who was originally a farm cat who impressed us with his temperament and demeanor.
His mother was quite another thing entirely. How many cats have you encountered that snort ? The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.
You have the best of both worlds, C_L. You get to be a cat lady AND married!

Today I dropped off the kitten (which turned out being a girl) at her new home.
A lady who I am acquaintances with took her. She is married with 3 children and has a sweet dog, and she told me she would have me pet sit for them every time they went out of town, so I will see her again. I couldn't have asked for a better home for my little girl... and yet, I feel so heart broken. Today has been rough. I miss her so much. Feel guilty for not keeping her myself, and probably even would have if it weren't for 2 of my cats being really upset about the little intruder and disappearing for days at a time. I miss her little face so much. It's so hard not coming home to the bouncy, furry little thing. My heart hurts.

@ CL
You are lovely just like that little black kitten. How sweet of you to take in these beautiful little animals.
It is truly hard letting go of a foster sometimes.
I have had two purebred Goldens that I loved so much, but getting them into a loving, wonderful home is worth it. My favorite, Buddy, was in such rough shape when I got him--lost a leg, HW positive, fighting pneumonia--and fought hard until he suddenly took a turn and died of kidney failure. That was the toughest night of my life recently. Worth it when I think of what I'm able to do for some truly special dogs. (And some knuckleheads too)
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great
