Quick Fix to CO2 and oil problems?
#11
RE: Quick Fix to CO2 and oil problems?
Per Kwh from Renewable-energysources[dot]com:

Coal $0.10-0.14
Natural Gas $0.07-0.13
Nuclear $0.10
Wind $0.08-0.20
Solar PV $0.13
Solar Thermal $0.24
Geothermal $0.05
Biomass $0.10
Hydro $0.08

While price is a factor, it also about availability, as one can see with a lack of geothermal solutions in their area. There is also the problem of storage, for while these alternatives are wonderful, many are intermittent by nature requiring large-scale and efficient energy storage that simply doesn't really exist at present. While I think no one would argue that we didn't need to start relying more heavily on renewables where and when they are available, I think we also need to remember that a complete conversion isn't quite possible yet. What is possible is increasing our dependence on renewables and working to reduce the impact of what carbon emissions we have, and how best to implement new energy policies and practices.

One should not expect a miracle, though, as most of us live with a government that takes months(if not years) to determine which hand it will scratch its collective ass with.
I would more generally advocate that one only leave one entrance into their mind(reason), and keep the rest of it rather closed, as it is one hell of a lot easier to shovel shit in than it is to get it out.

If the evidence and reason for you to believe something isn't really any better than the reason you should believe some rural farmer from Arkansas got anally probed by interstellar visitors, then you probably shouldn't.
