It's actually a rare occurence when a trait is determined by only one gene. Given that sexuality is highly complex, it seems very unlikely that there is a gay gene. I haven't really looked into the science, though.
The most likely scenario, I think, is that sexuality is like most of our neurological traits and is affected by both genetics and environment.

I think it depends on the person. It can be either genetic, environmental, or the combination of both.

As far as sexuality is concerned, I think there will always be a genetic component. How much of a role the environment plays and how strong the genetic predispositions are will vary by person, however.
