Hey Orchids:
I'd like to ask some questions. Please don't feel obligated to answer any if you don't want to.
How old are you?
You talked about "a wild spectacular recovery from a temporary spine paralysis". Can you tell us more about this event?
When you say "He mentally told me that he was happy about my happiness about my amazing recovery" and "mentally engaged in verbal talk with him" do you hear the words as in a person to person conversation or like with a phone conversation (external source) or are they more like an exchange of thoughts (internal source)?
You mentioned "because he won't leave me alone" and "The more I try to expel him out of my head and the harder he clings to it". Is this the memory of the events or are the visions/conversations continuing?
I'm a fan of CBT or just CT also. Are you in therapy now?
Thanks and Best Wishes.
Being told you're delusional does not necessarily mean you're mental.

1/-I cannot divulge my age considering that this is a public forum but I can say that I am old enough.
2/-I have a back problem. I had a bulged disk in 2003 (It was MRIed). Then in 2007 I must have had something worse (I injured myself at the gym during a work out) as I turned into a case basket to like about probably a good 95% at least within 3 days. That means as far as mobility, I had what was left: 5% or less. I was pinned to my bed for 5 days total. I had no health insurance a the time. I just waited at first to see if I will come back from it as I always have in the past. But it got worse and worse. When I realized I was in black hole, I intuitively started to forgive and ask to be forgiven. I was in a living hell because my body was burning from head to toes. So I didn't not eat or sleep during that entire time. The forgiveness thing and prayer lasted for exactly 48 hrs non stop. After which I got up and walked!!!! This is just the condensed version.
3/-I received mental impressions. But the sentence was "I am happy that you are happy about your recovery.", so it was not auditory but purely mental while I looked at him. He also gave me a light discreet smile. When I talk to him I do it mentally with my mouth shut.
4/-No things happen that I know have to do with him. One time for example I was mentally beating on him for the same problems and without any warning, A sudden silhouette of a man was erected in my mind who looked downcast and very sad. I knew that he did that to appeal to my noble side and get me to shut up. I did, burst into tears and asked him to forgive me. Also as far as the events, they do occasionally come back and get me to realize that I know too much and therefore I cannot allow myself to walk away. but I am exhausted. I need to go.
All I want you to do is find a way I could use as a scissor and cut the main cable to all of that. This is what I need.
Please help me. And I am glad you are fond of CT. I think it's a responsible form of treatment. Some just look for magical pills and I don't do that. I'd rather be taught how to modify and correct my own perceptions along with my behavior for the better if they need to be corrected.
Thank you so much again for caring.
Thank you all so much. May you all be Blessed on all levels of your lives .

So . . . basically you say that you are being "haunted" by something. You don't know who this is but you ascribe god-like qualities to the entity. You also say that you want to be rid of it.
What I can't figure out is why come to an atheist forum with this? Most of us don't believe god exists. That also goes for ghosts and spirits and visions and hauntings.

Orchids:
I only asked your age because these events often first occur at a certain age range.
Based on your story and the fact that this has been going on since 2007, my advice is for you to seek professional medical help. You have some thought process that need to be addressed and that should not happen over the internet. I/We can be a support system for you but I feel that this forum is not the answer, never will be the answer for your issues.
As far as psychiatric medication goes, there is no magic bullet. However, medication can get you to a place neurochemically (a more neutral/stable place), where you can more effectively address your issues in therapy. Look at it as an adjunct (helper) to therapy. If offered by a professional I say do not reject it out of hand. It does not necessarily mean that you have to take the medication for life.
Hoping you find a solution and happiness!

I agree with the OP that psychoactive chemical therapy is given too often in this country, but the same is true of antibiotics and opiates.
That does not mean that a person who is in genuine need of those things should avoid them.
Well said, mh.brewer!
Addendum, for the OP: There have been several studies of the brain which suggest that seeing "a presence" (which manifests differently for each person) is related to a specific form of "seizure", or essentially a crossing of the wires in the brain. It can be brought on artificially in people who are susceptible to it by certain conditions relating to blood flow in the brain, which include intense stress, prayer, and meditative states. There's even a magnetic helmet which modifies blood flow in the brain and can trigger various visions and feelings of presence (called "The God Helmet", if you want to Google it), meaning that it's entirely possible your experience as a "vision" was not genuine. I mean no insult by saying this; you are best served if you understand what may be happening to you as thoroughly as you can. Knowledge is strength.
A Christian told me: if you were saved you cant lose your salvation. you're sealed with the Holy Ghost
I replied: Can I refuse? Because I find the entire concept of vicarious blood sacrifice atonement to be morally abhorrent, the concept of holding flawed creatures permanently accountable for social misbehaviors and thought crimes to be morally abhorrent, and the concept of calling something "free" when it comes with the strings of subjugation and obedience perhaps the most morally abhorrent of all... and that's without even going into the history of justifying genocide, slavery, rape, misogyny, religious intolerance, and suppression of free speech which has been attributed by your own scriptures to your deity. I want a refund. I would burn happily rather than serve the monster you profess to love.

Orchids: you're most welcome
I can't say for sure what you experienced, however I would be willing to be that it was almost certainly not real. Minds can do very strange things at the best of times, and when under extreme stress they can produce all kinds of weird reactions. I've had hallucinations before, visual and auditory. I simply recognise that the chances of them being a glitch in my brain, which happens to everyone, are drastically higher than it being anything real. Minds also have access to our knowledge, so they are aware of the Jesus mythology you've no doubt been soaked in all your life. If instead you'd been raised in an Islamic country, it would probably have been Mohammad or something.
I'm not being insulting here but genuinely trying to help: when you "who else could it have been" you're committing an error of thinking. A logical fallacy known as the argument from ignorance, I cover it on my webpage. Your mind has come to a conclusion about what it is, and you ask us to demonstrate what else it is. It's impossible for us to know or prove anything about it, but our inability to do so in no way means the explanation your mind has come up with is correct. It's almost certainly the case that it was a mental glitch, but it so happens we can't prove that. But it would be true, nonetheless. Learning to spot errors like this in your thinking may help you push out irrational thoughts I did a video about this, aimed more at people who say "You can't prove God doesn't exist" but it applies here too. Please ask if this is unclear.

If you have the time, I'd seriously recommend this video. This is a guy who is an expert on the bible, and through a lot of study he makes strong arguments for Jesus (the human) not actually being real at all. He thinks the whole thing is a rewrite of an earlier story. I am inclined to agree. This video also shows how mythology is just copied from earlier mythology. It might make it seem a bit less real.

According to you, I also must spit green slim outta my mouth, growl like a beast and spin my head around and around clockwise as well as counterclockwise, and what else? look frighteningly scary with my hair all up in the air, my teeth blackened and nails,... or strike that, my claws are sharp and cutting, bones deformed?! is that it?!?! No fuzzy. You got it all wrong. As an atheist, you should be able to do better than that.
And I don't appreciate you cunningly cooked up a feel good script where you distorted pretty much everything I said.

Hoping you find a solution and happiness! I don't need medication. Most of the so called professionals are on the Big Pharma's payroll, so of course they are going to recommend it even if it's not the solution. And medication is good for those that hear voices and see shadows, and accuse you of saying something you have never uttered. They are usually violent among other things.
As far as what should or should not happen over the internet, you ask me to give you my age and think nothing of it. Yet on the other hand, accuse my candid talk on here of being something that should not happen over the internet. I find that disturbing.
Also about medication. Did you know that pretty much all of those that went out and committed mass murders, whether it be James Holmes or the Santa Barbara killer or the Sandy Hooks, or the Charleston criminal and so on, all had a common denominator?!?!?! and guess what is it?!?!?!They all were on some Big Pharma feces. Ain't that something?!?!All of them.
And please REFRAIN FROM accusing me of saying that this forum is the answer! Where did I ever say that? go get me the quote, because you won't find it. Seems like you are the one who needs to be on medication and not me, if you are not already.

Ok, Orchid, you vehemently think that you don't need an exorcist. It's true, I don't believe in demons or possessions or exorcisms, so I shouldn't have made the suggestion. But your tale of wanting to be rid of an entity made me think of exorcism.
And my question is valid: why post these tales on an atheist forum? Exactly how do you imagine atheists will be able to help you rid yourself of visions, or a haunting, or whatever you call these things you describe? We can only assume that you are creating them yourself. This is not a psychiatric forum.
Considering the story, I wouldn't have been surprised by green slime. And you do growl at anyone who finds stories of spirits and entities vaguely entertaining. Thanks for giving me a chuckle on my work break. Go get therapy.

That's funny how as I was about to post to the rocket surgeon a thorough reply, it was mysteriously wiped out as I hit the preview botton!!!!
I would simply say 2 things now:
1/-according to the definition of the world seizure below, that is not what I had.
2.
a sudden attack of illness, especially a stroke or an epileptic fit.
"the patient had a seizure"
synonyms:
convulsion, fit, spasm, paroxysm; More
I never had any such things as "spasms", "fit", much less "convulsions".
So NO!! that is not it.
2/- you cannot include the words "vision" and "not genuine" in the same sentence. If it's a vision it is Genuine. Just because you are not the one who had it does not mean that it never took place.
Thanks for the Addendum, it merits further investigating.

What did you exactly intend on doing by calling yourself drfuzzy, knowing that you clearly are not a doctor? You cannot help. Move out of the way and allow space for somebody who really can.

Quote:So do you think I projected that stuff out of my mind? This is an honest question. I tried to look up Doura and all I got is archeological sites. Who is he?
Yeah, pretty much. Humans can talk themselves into virtually anything.
Doura Europus is an archaeological site. A town on the Euphrates in Mesopotamia it was for many years a border bastion between the Romans and the Parthian Empire.
The city was conquered by the Sassanid Parthians in 256 and never rebuilt which gives us a terminus a quem (latest possible date) for the xtian artwork which appears on the wall of the so-called House Church.
The Healing of the Paralytic is here:

I have no doubt that if you wanted to see "jesus" your mind would have manufactured a picture for you.
