It seems, Randy, that you think that the length of your posts should directly correlate to the amount of respect it gets. It's funny that you are literally the only theist in this thread that is experiencing dismissal, and you still won't own that maybe, just fucking maybe it's about you and not us.

That may be, Mike, but the length of some posts is based upon what may be required to answer a question or refute a stupidity adequately. A skeptic (or even an honest seeker or fellow believer) can ask a short question (What is truth? Does God exist?) that deserves more than a brief reply.

And no, it's not just about me. CL quit the forum for a time over how you "brights" savaged her in another thread. You've all kissed and made up now, it appears, but it would only take a couple of strong doctrinal posts from her to turn you against her again.

IOW, you tolerate the believers in this forum who play...what is it? Mafia?...or chat about inane topics of the day, but you have ZERO tolerance for anyone who is dedicated to actually explaining and defending Christianity in the Christianity subforum.

Can you appreciate that C_L, kingpin, DP, and other theists here are liked because they treat this place like the community it is and participate with us on a level that shows us that they at least are trying to fit in?

As for you respecting me or the Catechism, that's up to you. I don't expect anything...I'm just here to provide information about what Christians and Catholics, in particular, believe.

On a general level, Christians in general cannot imagine a world where their beliefs and dogma aren't automatically revered by fiat. In general, I don't see your stories as any different than the Iliad or the Poetic Edda. They are fantastical bullshit, and my opinion on the matter has the same weight as yours. Christians are a shrinking majority, and aren't being afforded the same societal privilege any longer, and they are kicking and screaming like petulant children not getting what they want as a result. Sorry 'bout your luck.

If I were to actually analyze these assertions as needed to do them justice, I would be guilty of another "lengthy" post, and we can't have that.

You are aware that many theists, when they learn their coworkers/neighbors/friends/family are atheist do a lot worse than be mean online to them, correct?

I mean, you're talking to a group of people widely considered to be inherently bad and untrustworthy.  Seriously.  Polls have shown that it's atheists, not Muslims, or satanists, or scientologists, or Mormons that are the least trusted.

So, when you and people like you pop in and do nothing but attempt to push your bullshit, yeah, we react badly.  Especially when you demand to be treated better than we are in real life by many (most?) people waving your flag.

In the US, yes. In Europe these polls don't even exist, since nobody gives a shit what anyone believes. The only polls I know of are about professions. Turns out that politicians come out worse than hookers as far as trust goes, but nothing about religion, since it isn't part of daily life.

No, you're interested in being an adversary.  You present a position and then want people to attempt to refute it.  You even mentioned refuting this thread's OP to abaris.  That's adversarial.  Contrast that with C_L, who has started many, many threads on here, where she starts with a question - "What do you think about X?" - and discussion flows from it naturally.  You want someone to prove you wrong (even though you routinely ignore refutations as though they simply don't exist).  She wants to know what we think of certain things, and why.  She is far, far better at generating legitimate, genuine conversation than you are.  And, like with so many other things, you'd be better off (and far more respected, if not liked) if you followed her example rather than your flaccid attempt at playing copypasta professor of apologetics.

Moreover, you're only interested in your one narrow thing - apologism.  You don't care about getting to know us.  You don't care about actually being a member of the community.  To you, we simply represent an intellectual challenge for you to practice on.  You merely want to present your five minimal facts over and over and over.  Again, C_L hangs out in the off-topic section.  She plays Mafia.  She goes into the atheism section and asks questions.  Same with kingpin.  They're not here to massage their egos, or to win a debate, or to use us as guinea pigs.  They're here to learn about us in totality.

I don't have to refute the OP I'm very conscience of why I'm rude to you. First off you marched in here and started preaching the bible as 100% fact. This kind of certainty in people really gets under my skin because it is dishonest. What is more is that you were preaching shit at us that we heard a thousand times before and talking to us like we were just targets to convert. Even worse is that most of these you copypasted for other sources. This is isn't even taking into account the massive disrespect your good books shows us. So when so called you out on the horrible in things the bible you just performed that utterly disgusting mental gymnastics that apologists do when must defend the bible, and that wasn't even as bad as your comments while trying to defend the pedo priests.
