Ganging up on someone and calling them nasty names is never warranted, imho. A few of these posts are just getting to the point of being character assassination. This is a real person here, with a wife and kids, and other loved ones. Let's not forget that.
He chose to join, and he continually chooses to crap out this rapid-fire stream of regurgitated nonsense. He is here entirely by his own choices, and he's not shown a single iota of willingness to actually engage with the community in other ways. He is here to preach and stroke his own ego, nothing more.
I've run into this sort of type before, not just in christians. You could ignore them, sure, but where's the fun in that? He keeps coming back for more, and people here are only too happy to dish it out to him. So the cycle shall continue until he gets bored or banned, whichever comes first.
If he has a wife and kids, then I feel fucking sorry for them if he's like this in real life.

This fact should at least be acknowledged.
Yes, there are people here who are just plain not nice to Christians on this forum, particularly Christians who attempt to prove god. That I'd like to see stop. But not by force. I enjoy the wide latitude for speech here. Randy does attract more than his fair share of insults. But then he tends to lay himself out for them. And he sticks to more combative areas of the forum.
There are also whole threads devoted to making fun of Christian ideas and to the more hypocritical or looney Christians. For that I don't apologize. If you visit liberal sites you will find threads making fun of conservatives and vis versa on conservative sites. Christianity, like political ideologies is a set of ideas, ideals, and beliefs. As such it, like any such system is open to criticism both by reasoned argument and by jokes and satire, even gross jokes and satire.
I won't come to church meetings to make such jokes or even to argue that Christianity is false. But while this site is open to all faiths and especially lack there of, it is dedicated to atheism and joking about the "opposition" here is to be expected. If those threads bother you, don't read them.
If there is a god, I want to believe that there is a god. If there is not a god, I want to believe that there is no god.

Cath, has Randy ever come to YOUR defense in a thread?
Not merely agreed with you on a point of debate,
but actually defended you?
Or does he prefer to let nice Catholic girls fight all his battles for him?
sorry, had to ask.
EDIT: Oh wait, you probably don't need defending, since you don't draw a lot of personal attacks upon yourself.
Sorry, I should have realized that before I asked.
I don't remember if he has or not, but that doesn't matter. When I see someone getting ganged up on and ripped apart, my instinct is to say something. Regardless of who they are.
(I've had plenty of attacks)
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

That's not really my point, though.
My point is that he is allowing you to fight his battles for him,
and I'm just wondering if he has ever shown you the same consideration
...I'm not suggesting that you only defend your fellow Theists,
or only defend those who return the favour.
I know that's not the case.
I'm saying that he is sullying his own honour by letting you do his dirty work for him,
which doesn't help the very case you are trying to defend: his defendability.

Well for the record, and in case there was any question, those threads are not at all what I was referring too.

I don't think he's here seeing what I'm saying. If he was, he'd probably tell me not to worry about it. As he has done so in the past.

I think the real problem has finally dawned on me...this isn't a forum for discussing Christianity.
It's just a forum for bashing it.

You always think you're so fucking special, don't you. All religions get bashed. And all deserve it equally.
