Quote:Actually, you've got it backwards. It's you fundies who want to keep everyone in the dark.
A better analogy would be you repeatedly shining a large flashlight directly into our eyes while....
* not understanding that we actually can see just fine without it;
* not grasping the concept that a bright light shone directly into one's eyes does more harm than good;
* thinking we don't really mean what we say when we politely ask you to point your flashlight elsewhere;
* not understanding that it won't make any difference if we sit and hear you ramble on about how a flashlight shining into your eyes changed your life for the better and it'd do the same for us if we only allowed it to hit our eyes for a little longer, perhaps from a different angle than we're used to (see point 3); and finally...
* not grasping the concept that, even if the company that manufactured your flashlight printed explicit instructions for its user to go out and shine it in other people's faces, you following those instructions are still unacceptably irritating, and do NOT, in fact, deserve immunity from criticism simply because the flashlight manufacturer says it's okay.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'

Quote:Please tell me you see what you just did. You complained that atheists take a stance that other people should not believe in god. Then when I told you that I don't give any fucks if you believe in god, you responded by telling me if I don't believe in gods power I will be lost. O_o hypocrit much?
From Theist perspective, we should care if you believe in God or not, because you will not find your way without his light, and you will not fulfill your purpose without his guidance from our perspective. Therefore from our perspective, we care to for you to be reminded of his path and light.
However from an Atheist perspective, they simply believe they don't know whether or not God exists. At least this is what you are saying. Therefore from this point of view, you should not easily dismiss knowledge of God in others or the possibility that you can know God exists. Nor should you act like it doesn't matter whether you know God exists or not.

I've been finding my own way just fine without your (or any other) gawd for better the 40 years now, despite having wasted much effort searching high and low for the elusive fucker for (almost) the first 20. Religion has no monopoly on light, knowledge or truth. In fact, I would say it's quite lacking in all three categories. Believe if you must, but please don't come here telling us how lost we are without your particular brand of snake oil.

Instead of worrying about us non believers, wouldn't it be better of the various Abrahamic religions to sort out which of their various offshoots is correct (in the case of Islam, Shia, Sunni, or one of the others)?
Then you can sort out which of the Abrahamic religions themselves is the correct one: Christianity, Islam, or Judaism?
Perhaps, after that, when you're all sure and believe in exactly the same thing, you can start bugging us.

If your way has lead you to rely on yourself rather then God, then, fine. You don't like to be reminded of God, his guidance, the path and journey towards him, but just as you like to be free to express what you think is wise and best, you should expect everyone to be able to express their beliefs and share their viewpoint of wisdom.
We are in incredible age where we can discuss matters at ease. Why block yourself from others attempt to help you from their perspective and remind you.
So you should be able to call my path a brand of snake oil, but, if I call you lost without it, then it's problematic?
Free speech.
When someone says "I don't give a damn if people believe in God", I am going to respond "Well you should because you need his light to be guided out of the darkness and not be lead astray towards the darkness".

I believe the guidance regarding that is clear and have shared reasons showing exactly which sect is right as well as proof of the correct religion.
And I am going to strive to do that by the way. I am going to write a commentary called "The Fatiha 7 counter parts to Quran perspective". It's going to not only deal with how Atheism is wrong and proven wrong in Quran, but as well as Deism, Christianity and Judaism, as well, as all other faiths except that of the religion of the family of Mohammad, the chosen ones, Mohammad, Ali, Fatima, Hassan and Hussain and the 9 Guides from the offspring of Hussain.

When I finish my book, I will let you guys know.
Although I don't agree with the concept or the goals, I'll wish you luck with your book.
