You should pay more attention to your bible. 

Matthew 5:17 "Do not think that I came to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I did not come to abolish but to fulfill. 18"For truly I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or stroke shall pass from the Law until all is accomplished.…

That being said throw away the bible and pick up the OT that is all. 

The law of the Prophets is always to follow the path of a current Messenger and revelation from God. Jesus is saying,  the purpose is to worship and get close to God, the law of all Prophets is essentially love of God's face, through that you love God with all your heart, his chosen ones, and humanity, and that is through submitting to God and following his commands (through Jesus now). 

Islam is also described in it's inward path to be love in the family of Mohammad,  the true law is love. Sure there is a code to follow outwardly, but the purpose is love of God's light and holy name and spirit.

Jesus was the way towards God, and then his successor Simon carried on his mission, and was the true interpreter of his revelation. Succession took place from one Guide to another, till it came to Mohammad (saw) and the witness from the sons of Israel, testified to Mohammad (saw).

Jesus' role is not finished though, he will come back and support the Mahdi (the Guide of our time).

The purpose of all revelations is justice, that is love towards one another, and a special love towards God and his chosen ones.

I doubt it does i know many people who did stupid things because of  love. I let fact  and reality guide me truth is

Now the hilarious thing is that the Bible says that the law didn't come from God but that some angels came up with it.

Galatians 3:19 (ERV) = 19 So what was the law for? The law was given to show the wrong things people do. The law would continue until the special Descendant of Abraham came. This is the Descendant mentioned in the promise, which came directly from God. But the law was given through angels, and the angels used Moses as a mediator to give the law to the people.

But the bible includes both NT/OT.

Telling them to throw out the bible means they are throwing out both parts.
