Is Lying Ever Justifiable?

RE: Is Lying Ever Justifiable?
Quote:The point is that if a person has no barriers to lying himself about various things it's only natural for him to think that other people will also lie about the same things.

Lying to yourself isn't immoral, just stupid. Kind of like cheating at Patience.

I always lie about lying and it's morality, and I say it's perfectly moral to lie. Tongue

Except when you bought a lotto ticket and told yourself if I win I'll give so and so half but don't.
Should this be reason to feel guilty? Dodgy

To me: if you keep it, then that person wasn't "that" important to start with! Or is that what you tell yourself to relieve the guilt?

All lying for a good cause shall be referred to as "shady lies".
Gotcha. I won't accuse you of telling little white lies if you won't put me on the black list.
The god who allows children to be raped out of respect for the free will choice of the rapist, but punishes gay men for engaging in mutually consensual sex couldn't possibly be responsible for an intelligently designed universe.

I may defend your right to free speech, but i won't help you pass out flyers.

Ok say you/loved one is dying. You can't afford the surgery/treatment. Bank robber just so happens to scurry up to your door, "hey hide me, and half this million dollars is yours." Now all u have to do when the cop is doing a door to door is lie. Just make sure you have the money in hand then either let him walk or sing  like a blue bird.

So, the bank (or who ever is insuring them, probably taxpayers) gets hurt financially, the person committing the crime goes undetected/unpunished and probably goes on to commit more crimes and you benefit from these actions. Sorry, not on board at all.
Being told you're delusional does not necessarily mean you're mental.

If I said no, I'd be lying. If I say yes, you'd be on to me. Think I'll just obfuscate.

So that explains it. All this time I thought white men are just very photogenic. Now you tell me you've been using magic.

Be sure to lock the door and to wash your hands afterward.
