San Diego police shoot dead 15-year-old boy who had BB gun

Police shot dead a 15-year-old student Saturday after he pointed a BB gun at them in a high school parking lot, authorities said.
The Torrey Pines High School student called 911 shortly before 3:30 a.m. to ask officers to check on the welfare of an unarmed boy in front of the school, according to a police statement.
He didn't name the boy, but investigators later determined he was referring to himself, police said.
When two officers arrived, they spotted a youth in the front parking lot. But as they got out of their patrol cars, he pulled a gun from his waistband and pointed it at an officer, police said.
The officers drew their guns and ordered him to drop the weapon. But instead he began to walk toward an officer, ignoring more demands to drop the weapon, police said.

They then tried to get a statement from her about a neighbor. Her husband Khadafy came from the bedroom to tell his wife that she didn’t have to say anything to the police. The man walks with a cane due to a nerve condition and the deputies allegedly cuffed, choked and beat him before dragging him to a police vehicle in his underwear while calling him “Mr. Cripple.” Mrs. Manning captured some of the incident on her cell phone.

Former Los Angeles sheriff gets three years in obstruction scheme

Former Los Angeles County Sheriff Lee Baca was sentenced to three years in prison on Friday after his conviction in March on federal charges stemming from a scheme to derail an FBI investigation into corruption at his department.

Baca, 74, who retired in 2014 when the investigation was already under way, was the 10th member of the Sheriff’s Department convicted in the scheme aimed at preventing the Federal Bureau of Investigation from discovering wrongdoing by his staff.

The WLB should get ten times as much for his efforts to impede the FBI!

Seems to be a hard concept to get across. Confirmation bias threads are rather common, however.

We wouldn't need threads like this is the good ones would prosecute and jail more of the bad ones. Stories like this are practically an everyday occurence in America, but not so much everywhere else.

And it's all just a show, faux outrage against a target that can be safely attacked. 

And when I ask if they'd call 9-1-1 and ask the dispatcher to send them a hipster because there's an intruder in their home I get nonsense or silence in return. Such is the hypocrisy seen here.
