Hans. It's Hans, isn't it?
The fool hath said in his heart, There is a God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

RE: God's Name
Most people see God to an extent and hence have faith in him. What they don't know is how they see him, how they are connected to him. This reality of how they see him, how they are connected to him, is known as God's Name and face.

The Quran begins "by the name of God....all praise is to God...". Highest Praise of course belongs to God alone. His holy titles belong to him. But the verse is pointing to something all humans even Atheist acknowledge. That is praise. It's saying all praise you come to know of, that is in fact a praise to God through his name. What does this say? His name connects praise to God, such that everything we praise is a manifestation of God himself. That most essential of these manifestations is the signs of God in the soul and in the horizons.

Through his name, praises in the soul are signs of God. Through his name, we come to realize all beautiful titles belong to God.

Now upon reflection, what is the basis of praise? Can praise be really created out of nothing or must it be linked to an eternal reality? That all praise in fact exists eternally as absolute reality that unifies all praise.

The source of praise is thus God himself, the way we are connected with praise to him, is through his face/name.

The true remembrance of God, is through this reality. Like Atlas said, terrorists praise the words "Allah" etc, but are obviously divorced from the connection to God and his true remembrance.

It says in Lord of the Rings that the name of the dark master is Sauron. At least he makes no pretence of having good intentions.

How would God be able to prove to you he is good?

Maybe by actually showing up to do something, when some of his creations send others of his creations to the gas chambers... might be a good start.
