Yeah it's ignorance. You really have to remember that Christianity has it's own version of the history from the beginning to the present day. For instance watch this video of Dawkins debating catholic priest from Vatican who is presenting Vatican's version of history

and also their definition of "bad". Only on surface you'll hear Christians denouncing inquisition, holocaust of Jews, crusades, mistreatment of women... but if you look closer you'll see they hate people of other religions, if you're not baptized you're not even human being to most of them. They also write articles in newspapers how not one Jew died in 9/11 WTC crash, put women in prisons for abortions, some don't allow them into priesthood.

jihad is just a word for struggle, it's not the name of an actual terrorist organization. The politically correct translation is struggle with oneself stop sinning. The non politcally correct translation is thestruggle of war against all non believers.
I don't see how a Christian terrorist could be worse than an Islamic one though. I can see how they could be just as bad, but I don't think it gets much worse than gunning down over a hundred people on a night out, throwing homosexuals off rooftops, stoning women to death and so on and so on.
Plus it's very difficult to not give media time to Islamic terrorists, they very much want media time. Flying two large jets into two large sky scrapers in the middle of one the of the largest cities in the world, going into Paris shooting hundreds of people dead with machine guns, and blowing up buses in another one of the largest cities in the world, London, is going to get anyone a lot of media attention.

Christians who are not ignorant of their religion's history and crimes go by a different name than Christian.
They are called:
Atheists
The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.
