A completely unnecessary excuse to eat 9 courses of pure comfort food.

We're eating at my sister's. There will be 20 people there. There will be dressing, mashed potatoes, green beans, corn, yeast rolls, whatever everyone else is bringing and at least 6 deserts I know about. Mom is baking a ham and making the dressing. My brother in law is frying a turkey. I'm smoking one. It's been in the brine since 9 this morning. It needs to go on about 3 am which is a little over 3 hours from now. Not much sleep for me tonight.

Going to relatives on my dad's side, and the feast is reportedly going to be huge. Turkey, ham, Italian food, mac and cheese, cookies, cakes, pies, three kinds of stuffing, etc etc. I might just roll home. Big Grin

Roast beef, baked with veggies

white bread stuffing

green bean casserole (prepared in extra big pan so there is more room for extra crunchy bits on top)

red jello (family tradition)

corn

probably ice cream and homemade cookies for desert

A wonderful 'Murrican holiday where we celebrate bringing smallpox and measles to share with the Native Americans, then taking their continent and murdering millions of them when they had the audacity to not cooperate.

Manifest Destiny FTW.
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great
