Bill Gates lays out vision for clean energy

Does anyone still takes Bill Gates's activism seriously? For how long he had billion dollars campaigns to eradicate malaria in Africa and what did he achieve? Nothing. If you want to eradicate malaria - kill the mosquitoes - you don't need billions of dollars for it. Or few years ago he wowed out plan to revolutionize our every day toilet - still the same old crapper.
Now he lays grandiose plan for cheap and clean energy again with other billionaires. I guess it's just their way to launder money?

teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

So eradicating malaria is simple is what you're saying, everyone else with less resources just couldn't be arsed to do it the easy way?

Hey malaria in US was eradicated pretty easily with DDT, but today there are even more safer ways like GMO mosquitoes
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cpsRAk5HpK4
But the problem is that people are very rudimentary educated and brainwashed by religion that when they hear "GMO mosquitoes" they think it's the devil because devil is GMO: part goat, part donkey, part human... I mean GMO mosquitoes can completely destroy mosquitoes it's only question of willingness to do it. What did Gates do? In 2013, an estimated 437 000 African children died before their fifth birthday due to malaria - I don't see his billions at work and he's like this superhero whose powers are apparently billions of dollars that he throws on problems like reinvention of toilet
Seems like billions of dollars went down the toilet.

Seems like billions of dollars went down the toilet. Don't blame the GMO thing on religion. It the tree huger environmentalist food purists who villainize GMOs.

No, religion is directly to blame since it stigmatizes science in schools and fear of scientists since science is so deadly to religion, so when people hear GMO mosquitoes they fear without bothering to research (because religion teaches them not to research, or educate in science) so you have these people screaming really stupid arguments like " What if GMO mosquito bites me?" and it's because they don't know biology in the first place. If they knew even the most rudimentary biology they would know that male mosquitoes are not the one that bite and they are the ones that are GMO that mate with females and create dead larva. - but yeah researching biology might and probably will get them in touch with The Fact of Evolution, so there goes that.

No. You're absolutely right, Lek. GMO's were a smart-people thing, certainly not the fault of any xtian.
