Some sort of escalation of Islamic terrorism and killing in Europe and America.  Thinking optimistically it will be followed by even more genuine active retaliation by Muslims who are against these acts of terrorism.  Thinking negatively it will just result in speeches by politicians saying this isn't the real Islam with his arm around a smiling bearded Muslim who be saying yes he's right, this isn't Islam.

And you can't go wrong with predicting there's going to be another random mass shooting America, that seems like cheating because it's so inevitable.

I guess it would be impressive if you can guess which will come first the Islamic terrorist attack or the random mass shooting.

Serious predictions:

1. ISIS will suffer a series of major battlefield setbacks.

2. Assad will remain in power by promising modest reforms and actually delivering on some of them.

3. A comprehensive series of measures including (but not limited to) hybridization, new classes of pesticides and genetic 'tweaking' will arrest/reverse Colony Collapse Disorder, and the world honeybee population will begin to recover.

4. Concomitant with #3, we will see the start of a new Agricultural Revolution, in which GM crops will play a significant role in ameliorating word hunger.

5. A new species of primate will be discovered in the Indonesian archipelago.

6. Mick Jagger will die (and people will be stunned that it wasn't Keith Richards).

7. Organ transplants will become 100% effective - tissue rejection will cease to be an issue.

8. Sylvester Stallone will be nominated for an Academy Award for 'Creed' (he won't win).

9. An archeological find in Italy will add immensely to our knowledge of Etruscan culture.

10. Volkswagen will recover from the diesel-fixing scandal and will pass Toyota as the world's largest producer of motor vehicles.

(bonus prediction) You'll all be stunned at how many of these predictions come off.
