It's quite simple. Keep your followers scared of the unseen, they stay in line, don't ask awkward questions and keep the cash flowing.

Anyone seen that video of the guy lurching about as his pastor exorcises a demon out of him, then his 'phone rings and he stops to answer it, dropping the pastor right in it?
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

Conversely to the general consensus of the posters to this topic, if someone announced that Pat Robertson was in fact possessed and all his followers since the founding of the 700 Club were therefore damned, I'd be inclined to concur.
 The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.

IF you have been filled with the Holy Spirit then you never have to ever worry about demonic possessions. Demons can not possess what belongs to God.
