We're big on the 'shop local' thing for everyday needs. Occasionally, though, we do have to go outside our local markets, since Kerikeri doesn't stock some vital necessities like moose poo swizzle sticks, and wombat gall bladder aphrodisiac.

They were heavily advertising, which means that they would've had the best stock and offers so that they could attract the customers to come there again else they will only have a temporary profit increase.
Had you gone to those shops you'd gotten some pretty slick deals and some great products.
