What is xmas?

I found this while going through some old files on my computer and thought it might be of interest to some.

Christmas is a pagan holiday i find it funny how people attach geebuss to it like it's his birthday.

Lots of people celkebrated the winter solstice before christianity came along. Jesus' birthday was moved there to help bring converts. This is common knowledge to most people outside christians. The Christmas tree is such an icon of the holiday that people will complain about stores not putting it up, despite the fact that decorated trees have jack all to do with Jesus. It's the same thing with Easter. Pagan symbols and traditions have been so ingrained in christian holidays that we hardly think of what plants and rabbits have to do with Jesus and his teachings.

No. It is a christian holiday that was moved to the same time as other holidays, and incorporated pagan symbols and traditions like the tree, logs, and such, in order to help win converts. The bible never says when Jesus was born exactly, and christmas has little to do with him. Especially nowadays.

Xmas: The wonderful excuse for gratuitous gifts and spending time with the family, that often ends with emotional flatness, headaches and having to get your routine back on track.
I had fun on Xmas but I do feel worse now than I did before it. At least today.
