Delicate Offers a Truce
RE: Delicate Offers a Truce
I am all for giving people a chance to change, if they are sincere. Maybe he is trying, it's just hard work to alter old habits. I had a halfway sensible exchange with him in one thread, which is one more than I've had before.

I suggest not writing reflexively. Stop and think for a while so you're not so defensive. That's general advice for anyone who has trouble on forums.

I wonder how people can live with such a fear and suspicion of knowledge.

The word salad charge just makes atheists look so ignorant and anti-intellectual that it confirms one's faith in God.

With complaints like these, religion looks like the side of knowledge while atheism send to belong to the dark ages.

The dark ages were caused by religion. Our words pale in comparision to what religions lead people - and still do - to do.

You are not trying hard to make yourself a respectable member of this forum. We have theists that are respected and don't need to waver their beliefs.

Bashing your god or religion isn't bashing you. Its a simple concept.

As you can easily scroll back and see, we aren't just faceless enemies. I have to sleep now because I have a 13 hour drive (one way) in the morning, followed by a few days of constant driving with loaded trailers, but I truly hopeby the time I get back you've decided to show some humanity, and acknowledge ours.

In the words of Han Solo: "Good luck, kid. You're gonna need it."

Drive safely, brotha.

And the prize goes to Jenny for the best, most even handed summary of his MO I've read yet. I don't think this turd has ever responded to a single post I've written in any of his threads other than to whine.

Is it me, or that is reminiscent of Fr0d0?

Yeah, toward the end he was like that.  But he wasn't always so.  I think he just got worn down.

I think I met Frodo as he was in his meltdown period. Conversations with him were hella bizarre. I think he was having a crisis of faith, personally.

With people such as Frodo, or any theist who refuses to accept logic, I'm always trying to figure out if they really can't understand logical fallacies or whether they simply emotionally reject conclusions.

Guys, I am going through a doubt phase - so prepare for me to emotionally rant against you to test my faith till I convince myself you are all so stupid.

Yeah, I get that a lot. Everyone is out of my league. Aim low, Ste; aim low.

No... you're out of HER league.

She's.....not nice. In like, any way.
