Sorry, I have a roundabout way of doing thing sometimes. My point boils down to: break the cycle, and stop posting in the thread altogether. The more you do it, the more people will react, and so on and so forth.

Of course they're not. But there are more of them than you, and the likelihood that the other party will react at some point is by definition higher.
