RE: Rule Change (New Staff Power)
An idea I've seen used on another forum, is when someone is doing things to endlessly disrupt a forum but hasn't exactly broken rules per se, the person is only allowed to post in one subforum, and it's usually a subforum that acts as a 'time out' for problem members. There's a time limit, a few weeks, a month, etc. Once that time is up, the person is allowed to post back in the open forum, and then if they eff up again...they're banned forevah. The other members can interact with the person whilst they're in this other subforum, and so can the person, but that's the only place they can interact until they have 'served their time.' Just a thought, it seems to work well. Kind of like having cyber-gallows.  Walk the plank!

... You want us to give our jacuzzi back?
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

If I have to 'tread carefully' because I'm voicing a legitimate concern over what I think is a serious issue, we all may as well pack our things and go.

True. But you don't have to 'tread carefully' Ig doesn't speak for AF Tongue

It's not like if anyone compares about the rule staff is going to nuke them lol.

It's really for absolute emergiences and one single dissenting vote disables the nuke, remember.

No one is going to let you get nuked Boru (I mean for a start I'm not and my one dissenting vote prevents that see?) you're not DFM, you're simply epic. No need to 'tread carefully' all you have to do is not break the rules like everyone else Big Grin

No, it's like a playpen for the problem person, and that person can still talk to others, etc. Without the harsh penalty of being banned, if they haven't broken any actual rules, per se. But, they can't pm anyone or start new threads. They are confined to the one subforum, and it's almost like an ongoing chat area for the person and others. It usually turns into a free for all, for those who have been upset or offended by the offending party, and the offending party.

Oh, I get it. I was simply responding in kind to Ig's joke. The (very) few interactions I've had with the mods here have all been positive. No complaints, no worries.

OK, they are sent to a subforum for being a pre-ban/partial ban dick, get to maybe learn to de-dickifise themselves through salt peter chat therapy, may or may not continue the dick behavior, and then are allowed to return to the general forum and be re-evaluated to see if their dickosity coefficient has changed to an acceptable level.

Again, No Thanks.
