I watched a fair amount of Drumpf's rambling speech introducing Pence this morning.

All I gathered was that we're going become a evangelical/corporatist police state, much like what's portrayed in V for Vendetta, if he gets elected. It's fucking scary to hear people actually clamoring for it. It's pretty obvious that a good portion of the country doesn't actually understand what liberty actually means, and so long as their immediate concerns are taken care of, fuck everyone else.

Four Donald Trump-licensed real-estate developments are at the center of a huge income tax evasion scheme, according to allegations in a lawsuit unsealed Thursday afternoon by a judge in Manhattan.
The presumptive Republican nominee is not personally accused. He is described as a “material witness” in the evasion of taxes on as much as $250 million in income. According to the court papers, that includes $100 million in profits and $65 million in real-estate transfer taxes from a Manhattan high rise project bearing his familiar name.
However, his status may change, according to the lawyers who filed the lawsuit, Richard Lerner and Frederick M. Oberlander, citing Trump’s testimony about Felix Sater, a convicted stock swindler at the center of the alleged scheme.

GOP convention sponsors have second thoughts as online activists notch win

ColorOfChange and Credo Action pressure 30 big companies to ditch or curtail their sponsorship of the Republican National Convention because of its divisive candidate. Half, including Apple and HP, listen.

Hewlett-Packard, which donated $1 million in funds and tech equipment to the past two Republican National Conventions, abruptly said it would snub this year's GOP gathering in Cleveland.
Apple, which committed computers and iPhones to the last two Republican conventions, also sent its regrets. Motorola, which donated more than $600,000 during the 2012 RNC, took the same path.
The series of cancellations caps a remarkable victory for ColorOfChange and Credo Action, online activist groups that began pressuring some of the biggest corporations in the country to withdraw from what's shaping up to be the most contentious political gathering in nearly half a century. Using social media, online petitions and calls, the two groups targeted 30 major companies, prompting half to cancel or curtail their participation in the event, where Donald Trump is expected to be named the Republican Party's presidential candidate.
