I'm from a country where 99% are essentially Orthodox Christians. I can tell you pretty surely it encourages stupidity, closeness of mind and the corrupt system we live in. I would classify it as worse than any other type of Christianity. It's the sort that protects misery and relishes it like no other.

I don't know. More primitive in its rituals, perhaps? I'm not very acquainted with the practical side of it. I stopped going to church very early on. One difference is that in Orthodox Christianity people stand up in Church. And it's extremely boring, but that may be the case elsewhere as well.
