Let's see... there are approximaely a billion muslims in the world. If 10% of them are fanatical, murderous extremists.... that means we have ONE HUNDRED MILLION people running around who would gladly murder you if given the opportunity. Sounds like a major problem to me.

correction: %10 of muslims in Turkey.(And %70~80 of Turkey is muslim..)
There are much more than one hundred million people who would gladly murder you. : )
My point was, people who believe islam doesn't know real islam. (at least in Turkey) dont get me wrong, that extremists are following islam by letter.But Turkish muslims are usually thinks that they believe in super peaceful religion. Thats becouse they dont read quran in turkish. Mostly people read quran in arabic or dont read at all.
Actually I will make an experiment on them. I will prepare a book full of quran's bloody verses and I will present it as a new religion. We will see how many of them will accept that book

Probably.. But Im not planing to do it in Iran.. In Turkey things are little bit different. Especially the citiy I live(Izmir) is very tolerant.. only thing I will get here would be rude words.
Guys you are exaggerating Turkey's coditions. For example I am a univercity student and there is a lecture named human science which teach us why and how religions created etc.(its just like an atheism lecture.)
And this is despite a religious administration.. As i said before Turkey is a secular republic with modern laws.

Ashura is a holiday and not a ritual, Sunnis mourn it by fasting Ashura and the day before (or after) while the Twelvers mourn the day with the sickening way shown in your post.
