Yeah I love to talk nonsense for cheap giggles
I wasn't even being sarcastic, just being stupid. History is a fascinating subject.

Well, one can't always be serious.

History indeed is fascinating but I feel it's being cheapened. Multidimensional answers are avoided or not heard at all in preference of simplicity.
But I suppose such was claims were made since Socrates, and they're just as old as grumbling about youth .

Welcome from Germany!

Hello
I take interested in XX century totalitarian regimes as well, but from an amateur's perspective. I also take some interest in marxism from time to time, and technocracy as well.

I too can't really say that I'm professional as I don't pursue the academic carrier. In best case scenario I could be called educated amateur I suppose.
It seems we share common interests. I'm certainly willing to discuss about totalitarian regimes and my understanding of marxism which I gleamed from works of Raymond Aron and far less known Rafał Imos.

Was that correct?

It's nice to hear greetings in one mother language.
And yes it was correct, though some purist may claim that such form of greetings is not to be used in internet conversation. One after all can't welcome someone where one isn't host. I'm however not a purist, or maybe just not to this degree.

There is nothing out of ordinary in my life. I read much, listen to music and exercise. Also I'm sharing my thoughts on the forums. Or you were asking about something different, deeper maybe?
Ah, maybe there is a translation hiccup. I was making a silly stab at the Solzhenitsyn reference.
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

I must say I didn't thought of that. Unsurprisingly I'm more than happy that my life looks rather different than life of poor Zek, Shukhov.
