For the ultimate in this I give you the bible code.

Some people believe this shit, its scarey

A while ago I saw a TV programme on the Bible Code. On it, they showed that details of Kennedy's death, which are uncannily accurate, can be seen in the lyrics of a rap by, I think, Ice-T. Perhaps Ice-T is the Messiah?

They've done the same thing with Melville's Moby Dick. Any sufficiently large piece block of text can be manipulated by these con men.

The bible is as big a pile of shit as the koran.

So desperate are you to prove that the Qu'ran predicted much of our scientific knowledge that we have today that your mind goes through the most bizarre twists and turns to 'shoehorn' these vague and relatively meaningless texts into something that you can believe.

The fact that you have to explain the meaning of these texts shows just far away from logic and reason you are.
not just predicting but telling information that was impossible to know from 1400 years or even to imagine.am explaining the arabic words used so i can deliver the same meaning as it is in arabic my english is not good so am just adding the meanings so that it become clear.
Quote:It is clearly talking about only our world. how could you possibly relate this verse with big bang.
its saying the heavens and the earth.how is that just our world?
Quote:Hey Mo is there any ,scientific revelation, in the Koran that actually led to a discovery?
Rathet than people hearing of some scientific fact and saying that looks a little like this part of the koran if you squint and stand on your head.
yeah there are a lot of muslim scholars says things from the Quran that is not discovered yet and scientists are still struggling about but they dont have the tools to prove it.
if someone see that this verses say something rather than what am saying plz explain Smile

You keep saying this like Arabs are incapable of making up new words for new ideas.

Heavens = Sky

Earth = Ground

It's not that hard to figure out.

And all we want is a single coherent example, which you constantly fail to provide.

2-The big bang theory:

“Do not the Unbelievers see That the heavens and the earth
Were joined together (as one Unit of Creation), before We clove them
asunder?” (Quran 21:30)

This clearly indicates that the universe(heavens and the earth was) joint entity the word used in Arabic is (retq) which is used to refer to different substances that make up a whole. And then god clove them asunder the word used in Arabic is (fataqa) which means to become separated from each other or to separate something by destroying its structure

http://map.gsfc.nasa.gov/universe/bb_theory.html

Here's an alternate interpretation:

The Koran is based on the Bible and Judeo-Christian theology.

The Biblical creation speaks of Yahweh dividing the waters from the heaven (sky) from the waters of the earth and then creating a separate firmament (sky-dome) from the grounds raised up from the waters of the earth.

Genesis 1:6-10

So Sura 21:30 is a reference to this creation story. The cleaving of the heaven and earth into separate units, as related in this Koranic verse would seem to be closer to the Genesis story of Yahweh splitting the waters of heaven and earth and separating them with a dome than it would be to the Big Bang Theory.

Which do you think is more likely?

I'd be a sucker to take that bet. Though he'll never see it, I think everyone else can see that the Koran's creation reference is virtually lifted from Genesis.

The Bible Fairy Tale (Genesis)
1:6 And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.
1:7 And God made the firmament and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so.
1:8 And God called the firmament Heaven.
....
1:20 And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven.

The Koran Fairy Tale
21:30 Have not those who disbelieve known that the heavens and the earth were of one piece, then We parted them, and we made every living thing of water ? Will they not then believe ?

I propose "tautological sillyness" as a term for this type of self delusion. Any effort spent on this, is just too much.
