I Can't Agree, Mr. President

Quote:Obama acknowledged the Edward Snowden revelations, which exposed the National Security Agency's bulk data collection on American citizens, "elevated the skepticism" of the tech community trusting the government. "The Snowden issue vastly overstated the dangers to U.S. citizens in terms of spying," Obama says. "Our intelligence community is actually pretty scrupulous about U.S. persons on U.S. soil."

Trust is like virginity.  Not easily regained once lost.  And on this issue you aren't much better than that scum-sucker Bush.

To be honest, this is the only thing Obama has done that I don't approve of.  But then again, this was going on long before Obama took office.  My disappointment is that he didn't stop the practice.

What blows my mind is this isn't even on the Republican radar.  They could give two shits about big brother and that the metadata on every phone call they make is being logged.  The NSA doesn't need a registry of gun owners.  They have the phone calls from Billybob to Cletus bragging about the new 30 round clip he bought for his assault rifle.  All they worry about are illegal aliens picking their produce for minimum wage, the removal of some non-specific cells from a woman's uterus, and poor people getting assistance with the basics of life.

"Elevated the skepticism.", my ass. Way to mischaracterize and dismiss the legitimate issues.

The WIN/Gallup End of Year Survey 2013 found the US was perceived to be the greatest threat to world peace by a huge margin, with 24% of respondents fearful of the US followed by: 8% for Pakistan, and 6% for China. This was followed by 5% each for: Afghanistan, Iran, Israel, North Korea. -LINK

"That's disgusting. There were clean athletes out there that have had their whole careers ruined by people like Lance Armstrong who just bended thoughts to fit their circumstances. He didn't look up cheating because he wanted to stop, he wanted to justify what he was doing and to keep that continuing on." - Nicole Cooke

Yep... if this country's own citizens aren't important enough, guess where foreign visitors and residents stand?

The funny thing is, the ones crying 2nd Ammendment, freedom and less state at every given opportunity, display no concerns over the services sniffing on their underpants.
