question. Is it claimed that all of the rules in the Bible are mandates from Dog. Is that so? If not then which rules are from Dog and which ones are from man. This is important for a project i'm working on.

The fool hath said in his heart, There is a God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

Each Christian probably has their own personalised, edited version of the bible in their mind. They decide which bits were from God and which ones not so much, using the criteria Alex suggested.
Things which are no longer socially acceptable came from man. The only right answer is that it all came from man, further than that you've just got people claiming all sorts of things and none of them have any evidence. Whatever happened, it's all gone through the filter of man. Feel free to send me a private message.

Like Alex said. The ones you literally like are from god. The ones you dislike literally are also from god, but must be interpreted as a metaphore.
What's the project?
I doubt there is an official answer to this. I don't think there could be. Everyone just makes it up, really. Each sect might have its own set of ideas that most of its adherents stick to. Feel free to send me a private message.

Most Christians believe the following "rules" to be inspired AND applicable to post-Christ world 10 commandments Anything Jesus said Epistles (Pauline, Peter, James, John) - including if referring back to a specific OT "rule" Don't get sucked into the "abolish the law" argument. That has long been settled in the Christian world. (March 30, 2016 at 9:50 am)SteveII Wrote:(March 30, 2016 at 4:00 am)loganonekenobi Wrote: question. On the other forum the battle ground is truly challenging.
So in order to raise a point or to start a good topic I wanted to do some back ground checking and get every thing right that I can. My topic/point is this... Many civilizations around the world have used gods to back up claims of rulership. They have also used gods to enforce the laws. EI rebelling against the king is rebelling against god, The pharaoh is a god so his word is law, God commands that women should be subservient to men in all things. You get the point I hope. Of course the christian would claim that all other claims of divine right are false. All other laws not decreed by god (of the Bible) are man made. My challenge is how can all others be wrong in such a claim but they can be right? I want to look at the evidence that almost all cultures have or are doing this(in the case of theocracies) and challenge to give evidence on how they are any different. My idea is that people where prone to being superstitious because they didn't understand the world. A few clever folks used this to help them make claims of rulership and law. It is easier to get people to follow a god due to fear of its power of the unknown that it is to follow a man that is just as flesh and blood as they are. The point to the theist is that it is just as likely that the god portrayed in the bible was simply such a tool. Any help would be appreciated. I'm doing historical study of other cultures to find such similarities or differences. (March 30, 2016 at 9:50 am)SteveII Wrote:(March 30, 2016 at 4:00 am)loganonekenobi Wrote: question. Well, not really. Even the 7th Day Adventists miss the Sabbath by an average of 12 hours everyweek, hardly any of the other 'christians' even get within 24 hours of 'honoring' the Sabbath. As for the Jesus crap, how many 'christians' running around do you see self-impoverished from giving alms to the poor? Hell, most of 'em even consider remarriage following divorce to be a fucking sacrament. Tough taking the entreaties and beseeching we get here seriously when we just don't have any 'christians' doing it right. Ever. The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.
They aren't handling enough serpents either . . .
[grrrrr] The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.
