Octopussy, the great escape.........

I am kind of annoyed about how this story is being reported in national/global media. It is true that the octopus escaped and went down a storm drain. But I doubt with all the pollution, even if it did make it to the ocean as claimed that the octopus was not affected by it. Wouldn't it be more likely that it died from some pollution in the drain or got stuck on an object in the drain. There is a stupid assumption the octopus made it all the way to the ocean.

Huh? I think you are being silly but this story does remind me of the clip about how Lisa Simpson is a bit utopia about her love of nature, well intended. There is an episode where she is walking on a nature trail, says hi to a chipmunk, talks to it for a minute, says goodbye to it, but doesn't see the owl behind her swoop down and capture it and fly away.

I don't think a storm drain is safe for sea life to live in.

I know very little about storm drain construction, so I have no idea what the odds are that it made it to the ocean. I was just making a bad joke, comparing a tough and resilient sea-creature to Breaking Bad's Walter White.

I'm also reminded of Pennywise, but I'll keep those jokes to myself.

The romance of freedom
I think is lost
To the reality

Pollution and objects
Within it's path
Could get it sick

Another Nemo
Or simply humans
Projecting again

In this process

And Lisa's trip
 
Through a nature walk
Where she encounters
An articulated chipmunk
She procedes to talk
 
She smiles and chats
Thinking happy thoughts
Nature is wonderful

But does not see

It is a cartoon
But this escape by Inky
From Alcatraz
 
Was very real
And why we'd like to think
Inky made it
All the way

All the dangers
That may have dwelled
In that drain?
