Is this a trick question? I really don't like H Clinton. And I'm not a democrat. But Trump is not conservative. He has no real policy positions he hasn't changed in the last 15 days except an expensive, xenophobic, useless, expensive wall, and an economy busting 45% tarriff. He is a thin skinned, vindictive, womanizing, racist, who knows nothing about macro ecomonics, how the government works, or foriegn policy. He has said that shallow thinking is best and his actions confirm that. His favorite bible verse is an eye for an eye and his actions confirm that. He will not release his tax returns. He lies more often and more blatantly than any politician I have ever seen. He has taken political discourse to a new low.
Oh and he's now accepting big money and walking back his stump speach promises.
I will vote libertarian because Oregon is a very blue state so a protest vote is safe. Should the race look close here I will vote Clinton.
#NeverTrump I'd prefer Cruz, Sanders, or Clinton. I'm judging republicans by who supports him, who equivicates, and who denounces. I'm rather liking the Bushes and Romney right now.

I don't think they can help it.
I don't think they have connected the endless fearmongering and demagoguery to creating this mess. It is their go to tool for "correcting" the woes of the nation. And they still use it. Non-stop. And they're stepping it up, not backing down at all.
The fearmongering and demagoguery not only attracts the crazies, it makes new ones.

They're splintering. Hopefully what remains of one of the factions will grow into a legitimate alternative to the Dems.

It boggles my mind that there isn't a fiscally conservative, socially liberal alternative.

That's what I would like to see happen. A faction that is conservative fiscally and on foreign policy but not anti-science, not bigoted and not religious.

Where is your candidate? Until that person has a name recognizable by more than 6 people, they are not an alternative.
