(@ chad, there aren't....actually..it's not as if it was the drugs or the electricity that cost all the cash when it comes to executions)

Yeah, I know. It's the appeals process. I just don't now why we're bothering with methods that may or may not cause prolonged pain, when blowing someone's brains out is pretty much instant death.

It isn't humane, that is one of the reasons they are withdrawing those drugs.

Studies were done showing that in the majority of cases of lethal injection, the person was still conciousness or able to feel. This means it is a bit more like drowning or stranglisg. The person would be conciousness of being unable to breath or move.

I'm against all of it anyway. We aren't barbarians anymore, but a certain segment keeps us acting like it. It is not worth the price of innocent killings, otherwise known as murder, being done in on my name and on my dime. No.

Anyway, I'm glad that these drugs will now be even harder to come by for states that seem to get a kick out of executions. Maybe they will have to actually start thinking about other ways to deal with tough cases, instead of just offing them. Or maybe they'll just go back to hangings and firing squads. Go merca!

Some states (not hard to imagine which) will almost certainly revert to other methods of execution.

I can see the relatively more liberal states that still have the death penalty perhaps using this to abolish it. I've just looked up which states still use the death penalty, and tbh I'm actually surprised California is among them. It seems (predictably) that the more Republican-leaning states are the ones which tend to still practice the death penalty, while the most staunchly Democratic ones have all abolished it. There's only a few exceptions to that rule

Which obviously didn't happen, since the guy resurfaced at the party congress. Which is a tough stunt to pull if being treated to artillery shells.

I've noted this before, but John Waters take on it is it all boils down to how it's marketed.

If capital punishment was presented like an Emmy or a Pulitzer, but for achievement in crime instead, we'd all have a different take on executions.

Having perps families arguing in the media who's scion is more badass and rotten would be an interesting bonus. Victim's families might be awarded royalty fees from media coverage and souvenir sales too.
The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.

America is like a fucking idiot. A murderous one at that.

Any one American who agrees to this practice deserves all the contempt in the world.

As for whatever prompts the wheels of this particular vehicle to move in the right direction, that's great.

A superiority complex should at least be accompanied by superior thinking ... but you obviously fail, and fail hard, in that regard.
