It couldn't have been more transparent...he asked the people who's support he's angling for to write the list, ffs. Why? Because, perhaps....he heard the left grumbling and saw leverage he could use to play both sides against each other. Will the dems just lay down and confirm any of these nominations..if he were elected..or will the Donald, like every president before him, have to face the realities of office if elected?

Even though the garbage is worthless Trump is showing that he's on the ball and won't stand around like a deer caught in the headlights.  So he's putting the gang out there for the mob to deal with months before he has to get serious about it.  That's something Obama didn't do very effectively. He could end up going with other people, which will throw everyone off.   

As you may have noticed, Hillary is late to the party.  I doubt if she will go with people who aren't from the same gene pool.  Harvard & Yale, Catholic & Jewish.  Even that turd Scalia  said that the Court needed diversity.

I think it was a good political move as well, insofar as it might stop some of the grumbling about a divided party (certainly seems to be what the folks at AFR, my cultural barometer for batshit crazy) have fixated on.

"Well, boo-hoo, we didn't get Cruz...but look, look, Trump is throwing us crumbs of our favorite flavor!"

After -months- of berating Trump.....  I actually heard, on the radio today.. a caller chime in with the opinion that maybe, god is going to use Trump as his tool after all. Last week they were licking their wounds over "the lesser of two evils", proposing that a vote for Trump was a vote against Hillary, which, ofc..might prevent the apocalypse for another eight years or so. The progression is obvious and highly amusing.

Apparently the list wasn't vetted all that well, I got in on the end of a news report at least one of the candidates has already publicly mocked Trump prior to his selection.

That might be the 'Souter' candidate, LOL !

Yeah, and many people feel the same way. That's why staying at home is such a stupid idea, since all these individually insignificant people suddenly become a significant portion of the electorate. That's why I always pinch my nose to cast my vote. I don't want to contribute to any radical's win because I can't be bothered to move my arse. And you can bet your aforementioned bodypart that radicals are much more eager to vote than moderates who simply don't agree with the alternative.

I know, I know.  It's just that, as an American, I'm sick of feeling like I'm selling my integrity to vote for the lesser of two evils just to watch the country go to shit anyway.  We have a strong culture of anti-intellectualism, and it seems that without some huge cultural revolution, our country is doomed to take itself down regardless of who I vote for.  At least if I refrain from voting, I can feel like I can live with myself.

Look, when it comes down to it, I'm sure I'll end up at the voting booth marking Clinton and trying not to vomit, because the idea of a Trump presidency is the stuff nightmares are made of.  I just like telling myself that I'm not going to vote, because it makes me feel like I'm at least salvaging a tiny bit of integrity.

If it's any consolation, I was in exactly the same place in 2008. I was a Hilary supporter, very pissed that Obama won the nomination and had to hold my nose to vote for him. It was easy after the emotions of the primary faded and I looked at the consequences of a two-time cancer survivor on the wrong side of 70 being elected with Sarah Palin as his VP. I think the consequences are even worse this time because the crazy idiot is at the top of the ticket.

McCain has stubbornly refused to die.  Kindof had to know he was a survivor though, that Palin was never going to assume the throne.  Survived the loss of 5 planes, being a POW for 5 and half years...and beat cancer twice.  Hell, for all we know, the fuckers immortal.
