I can't understand it.
May 24, 2016 at 9:31 pm
Most of you know my history.
I've provided it here, somewhere, too lazy to find the thread.
New Age Wicca was one of the paths I followed along my journey toward atheism.
There is still one incantation I repeat quite often to make myself feel better.
It goes:
I am protected by your might,
Oh, Gracious Goddess, day and night,
Thrice around the circles bound,
Evil sink into the ground.
"Never trust a fox. Looks like a dog, behaves like a cat."

Interesting. You'll need to deconstruct and explain for me to understand.
Who's might?
What goddess?
What are the circles? Why three around?
Better than "Now I lay me down to sleep".
Being told you're delusional does not necessarily mean you're mental.

I always like this one:
The church is near,
but the road is icy.
The tavern is far,
but I will walk carefully.

The Goddess' might.
Any Goddess. Paganism teaches that each adherent can choose his/her own God(s)/Goddess(es) to follow.
The circles relate to imagining three purple circles around yourself while reciting the chant.

Kit, the difference is you know it's a superstitious habit.
Nothing wrong with that...
Now if you deposit $20 into my PayPal account, I'll give you an extra 3 purple circle things to make 6!
Everyone knows that 6 is a magic number!
Pay in the next 5 minutes and I'll send you another 6 rainbow circles, absolutely free!
The kit comes with a mug and a bumper sticker too!
You'll have to be quick, the switchboard has lit up like a Christmas tree! No shit!
(I mean, yes, plenty of shit!)
No God, No fear.
Know God, Know fear.
