If You Don't Like It
take your sorry asses back to the desert.

Quote:Muslim students in Switzerland must shake their teacher's hand at the beginning and end of lessons, a regional authority has ruled.

A controversial exemption from the tradition had been granted for two teenage brothers whose interpretation of the Koran meant they were unwilling to touch a member of the opposite sex.

RE: If You Don't Like It
Why should it be a requirement to shake someone's hand before and after class?

I think it should be required that they lick the bottom of the teacher's shoe.

It seems to be a local tradition.  Again, if they don't like it, LEAVE.

How many shoes did you lick in school?

It just strikes me as kind of weird, and I can think of several reasons why people wouldn't want to shake stranger's hands twice a day.

Right! It's like when people don't want to say the American Pledge of Allegiance, or want to leave out the 'under God' part. If they don't like it, LEAVE!

Well..I think there's a small difference there because nobody can be forced to say the Pledge of Allegiance, nor can they be forced to say any specific part of it.

WTF does shaking hands has anything to do with education? If it's a local formality, then it is still just a formality and not a requirement. Enforcing such silliness is absurd

Actually, they don't have to.  I haven't said the "under god" shit since grammar school.  No one cared.
