Pet pleasures

RE: Pet pleasures
I love picking up my daughter from school. Something about all the excited kid's voices at the end of their school day makes me happy.
I love walking the dog and looking at other people's gardens and landscaping...and stealing their ideas.
I love watching movies and when an exciting thing happens, I pause it and go and play my keyboard, hoping for inspiration from the energy the movie has given me.
I love the look my daughter gets on her face when I tell her I'm proud of her.
I love being able to see a long distance, preferably mountaintops.

It can get bittersweet, but being with old friends and going out for a good meal is really becoming a top favorite thing of mine that I sure don't get to do very often.

My circle of friends from way back is spread over the country now, and there are so few left, it just is super difficult to get together.

There might be an opportunity this coming fall, but I have a feeling it's going to be very difficult for me to make it. Tentatively, looking like it will be on the west coast, and if I do go, I'd really like to drive there and back to recapitulate some childhood vacations. That would run about 3 weeks though, and being away from the farm that long that time of year is a challenge. I suppose I could fly, but missing a chance on a bucket list item like driving there and back is concerning.

Hearing my grandchildren laugh. Nothing so sweet.

Hearing them say, "I love you, Mimi." (Mimi is my grandma name.)

Going fishing early in the morning and watching the birds and squirrels foraging for food, being in nature. I miss the country so much.

Seeing the first hummingbird at the feeder in the spring.

Watching my dogs leaping in the air because they are so happy to see me.

Similar situation here.

Meeting up with them is fun.

Lucky you. Possession of a prohibited weapon is an automatic five year prison sentence here, sometimes more depending on the situation.

What's considered a "prohibited weapon"? Do you have ranges where you can rent a toy?
Being told you're delusional does not necessarily mean you're mental.

Pretty much everything except hunting rifles and certain shotguns. And no we don't have ranges either.

All guns must be kept in a secure safe and you're not even allowed to store the ammunition in the same fucking room as your guns. That's how bullshit the UK is.

I'm not sure that's bullshit. My weapons are locked, ammo stored separate.

I'm surprised at that to be honest. Is that a legal requirement in your state or just something you decide to do? What if someone breaks in and you can't access your weapon in time?

Anyway to put it simply, we can't use firearms for self defence in the UK either like you yanks do. I'm hoping that handguns become legal here one day though.
