I would need more information to decide whether to plug into VR. I'm only interested in VR if it will enhance creativity and free expression. I have doubts on whether it will ultimately do that, however. The powers that be - technology merchants - will slickly market VR to the masses as some golly-gee technology but use it to monitor and monetize our every move. Facebook already bought Oculus. No thanks. If we're going to sign up to be turned into robots, we may as well just go extinct now.

Realistically, I'd never do it while I was leaving anyone behind I cared about.
If there somehow was no one, or they could all come with me, plug me in forever!
So using it as entertainment seems to be the only real possibility.

The new kid in town, I think over all these options I'd pick having perfected augmented reality and great life together. That way you can be in the real reallity while having a touch of virtual to it.
