But being selfish atheists we don't share.
Ha!
I actually sent a bottle of excellent wine to Australia once. It was for Zen & Kichi's wedding. I wonder what happened to them... And Atheists do share alcohol. That was a very awesome 2008 reserve with 15% Bacchus juice. Shame the later crops from that house are not as good. It was a very good year.

Welcome Adam! I hope the transition goes well for you and that your loved ones maintain their relationship to you. I suspect that you have a lot to contribute to our community.
I'm not anti-Christian. I'm anti-stupid.

Well done. Hope it goes well for you with family and friends. You realise you're now open to be classed as never being a 'True Christian'. I'd take that as a compliment if it's ever said to you.

Well, if that just means that I never had any supernatural born again experiences then I would have to agree with them! I spent my whole religious life wonder what was wrong with me when I didn't feel the same things from water baptism and worship services that others did. Despite a lifetime of indoctrination, my feet have always been too solidly grounded in reality I guess.

Welcome, Adam! Consider listening to William Lane Craig debating Sean Carroll:

Note how Craig disabled comments for the video; it is an epic debate. I guess that someone has made it into book form, which they are selling for a hefty price:

Welcome to the forum!
Yep, the evidence is drastically insufficient to support the god claims, and the philosophical arguments are all flawed.
Congratulations!
Not sure if this applies, but there is an organizations that might be of assistance:
The Clergy Project - http://clergyproject.org/
They help ex-clergy and practicing clergy, that are now atheists, reintegrate into civilian life.
You'd believe if you just opened your heart" is a terrible argument for religion. It's basically saying, "If you bias yourself enough, you can convince yourself that this is true." If religion were true, people wouldn't need faith to believe it -- it would be supported by good evidence.

LOL, you probably did feel the same things...save the compulsion to embellish what you felt, particularly in front of a group with expectations.
