RE: To circumcise or not to circumcise?
1) Not having to clean yourself as an argument DOES NOT help your case. It just makes you seem more dirty and disgusting.
2) Babies don't remember the pain doesn't excuse the fact that they DO feel the pain. It is more barbaric compared to an adult who can be treated with anaesthesia during the process unlike an infant.
3) Blaming your parents for not mutilating your genitals because it'd be painful to get it done now is the same as blaming your parents for not tattooing you as a baby with their favourite rock band's name.
4) Parents should not obsess over their child's genitals, that's plain creepy!
5) There are no universal benefits of circumcision, and the uncircumcised population is doing pretty fine as far as health is concerned.
6) What is considered beautiful varies between communities. There are several tribal beautifications, that can give you nightmares for days. You have no right to impose your beauty standards on someone else, including your child, especially when it's pretty much irreversible.

And now, if you'll pardon the pun, we really must cut this derail short. Feel free to PM me any reply you feel the need to make.

It would have to be causation, not just correlation. If that were the case then yes I would change my mind. How many uncircumcised men loose their sensitivity?

It is causation. We lose lots and lots of nerve cells. The glans grows a
layer of keration making the glans (the most sensitive part of the penis in the majority of men) very hard or nearly impossible to stimulate unless you use enough friction to start a fire. Which results in death grip syndrome desensitizing you to all other stimulations. The inner skin is also sensitive and that is also cut. The frenulum is very sensitive, that is cut away. The lack of gliding function makes it much more easier to stimulate the penis. There are men who have have gotten circumcised as adults, at first their sensitivity skyrockets because their sensitive glans is exposed 24/7 but after a while it dries out, keratinizes and loses its sensitivity gradually. Some of those men have manually restored by tugging and stretching the inner and outer foreskin to regrow it gradually and they've reported getting a lot of their sensitivity back. Still a correlation?

I personally believe circumcision is beneficial.

I personally believe it is the parent's decision.
I am glad my parents made the choice for me.
I will not take that choice from the parents.

All the facts and evidence goes against your personal belief, you're being irrational.

I personally believe soda is healthy
I personally believe cannabis cures cancer
I personally believe school is detrimental to your health

See how ridiculous it sounds? Your personal belief is irrelevant when there are facts.

And, by the way you can't say you're happy you got circumcised, you have nothing else to compare to. I doubt very very much you'd want to cut away your foreskin if you were uncut.

Comparing it to being given a name is doubly flawed, because a name doesn't inherently change a person at all. It's merely a legal description. And of course, it can be changed later.

Here's an idea - if you pull out all of your teenage kid's teeth and replace them with dentures - like the Amish often do - your child will not have to worry about washing those either. And you'll save a fortune on dentist bills... I think it's every parent's right, to decide that for the child - after all they're the ones paying for it...

Yeah... I don't think it should be the parent's decision. It's not consistent. Why aren't they also allowed to trim its ears, pull out its finger nails, or anything else they personally prefer?

Medical evidence is against the procedure, that should be enough. Tradition is not a good justification.

There is a tradition here to pierce little girls ears just so yhey can look nice babies with earrings. Yeah, not going to do that and if she choses to later of her own accord, she can do the piercings she pleases.
