CIJSAIJBH, I am getting way too many push notifications on my desktop, and they aren't slow enough.

It had the potential to be an exciting intellectual adventure that encourages people to challenge their preconceptions. However, it seems that some posters are more interested in confirming their preconceptions; they don't seem to be interested in learning.
Teaching is important too though
I really really like you Kernel you're an intelligent and very nice guy... but I do sometimes get a "Everything is an opinion. Nothing is true outside mathematics. Let's all just be diplomatic." vibe from you. Some people are just flat out right and others are just flat out wrong and truth is objective and absolute. Isn't that what you find beautiful about mathematics? The fact that there is a right and wrong answer to math and it's not all "anything goes"? It has real truth in it, in a beautiful way. I feel the same is true about logical truths, and I personally believe all truth is ultimately logical and others certainly can be found to be wrong and yourself to be right via the path of logic. Proof by contradiction is one example. The whole reason that math has such power is because it is logical. Even empirical evidence and intuition works via inductive logic.

That's apologists for ya. Some of them won't even accept that 0.999...=1 lol.
I appreciate your response, Hammy. However, to be frank, my interest in math is more simple: after studying computational math courses, such as algebra, trig, calculus, linear algebra, and differential equations, I wanted to know why all of the equations and formulas worked; I actually wanted to understand the proofs/theory underlying the math that I had studied, rather than just performing calculations and accepting that the various theorems, propositions, formulas, etc., were true . That said, your belief in logical truth transcends my interest in mathematics. Hence, regarding your pursuit for logical truth, you are a much better man than I am. Live long and prosper, sir.

Thank you for the kind response and thank you to yourself and J a c k for the kudos.
I am surprised I got such kudos because despite making some valid points and showing some passion and saying some nice things in my post... I also for some reason sense that part of my post also gave off rather rude and impolite vibe in a rather arrogant way.
Despite being surprised by the kudos... I was not surprised by your polite and modest response. As you're always polite and modest

JBH: You total cunt. You've known what's been going on for 6 months, you've known when it has to happen, and now you're trying to guilt me over it? Fuck you. It's not my fault you've totally failed to organize yourself.

Cijs - I threw my back out yesterday because my salon chair finally arrived and I picked it up without thinking about how heavy it would be.
I'm a fucking idiot.
And I was really excited about it.

LOL that only happens if you're actually employed.
I have a whopping two clients that are friends. That's about it. Other than that - the chair looks cool.
