Perhaps they were upset and their perspective is that you were choosing a fantasy over them.

I hope you pardon them and connect with those who attempt to disconnect from you especially if they were a childhood friend.

CIJS, it's been a wild ride for me with my faith...trying to find the right place for me. And I've come back to a belief in God, and I'm grateful for those here who have treated me with kindness, as if nothing has changed. But there are some elsewhere, who will not be named, who have gone out of their way to treat me as though I'm personally betraying them. It's nice to know that we were only friends as long as I was an atheist.
