Well that's not the same. I mean some men are all "I don't need no sunscreen or maps or directions" *grumble grumble*.

It's not common thing among all men but it is a common thing among men who spend a lot of time concerned with being considered manly.

I suggest you shell out the cash for a better brand of sunscreen that feels and smells like normal lotion. Melanoma is a real thing. I know people who have died from it, including a girl I end t to grade school with she was only 24.

I used to hang out at Padre Island a lot. I got used to the sea lice, the jellyfish, the school of mullet sneaking up from behind and even got zapped by a man-o-war. I was out on the third sandbar sharing a surfboard with a friend when I got bumped and put my arm down to brush it away, porpoise maybe? Nah, skin feels dry and sandpaper like. Hmm? SHARK! Slow, calm and with purpose, I got back to shore and I do not hang out in the water any more.

The parents would love to take you on their next vacation to Florida.  They know a nice place where you can pet the pretty 'gators.

So you've decided to spend your time trolling as much as possible?

The sun also makes you look like a beat up leather purse by the time you're 50 without sunscreen too. I wear a light low-level protection whenever the sun comes out, even if it's not that hot. I value looking younger when I'm middle aged over being tanned while I'm young.

Then there's people who put cooking oil on their skin so they tan faster. That's got to be fucking lethal, surely. Stupid people.

I was at the Aransas Wildlife Refuge with a bike club once. One of the members thought they could sneak up and touch the tip of an alligator's tail.

I have seen many documentaries and shows on alligators and crocodiles and none of them come close to actually being there.

That alligator flipped around so quick, I expected a sonic boom. The biker got away by the skin of his teeth. We all had a great laugh at his expense. And no, he did not get the satisfaction of touching the alligator.
