In both cases, it's about staying with in the rules and heeding the warnings the mods do issue you. No one get bann out of the blue. there is always a series a warnings just like there is here.

I think the point is that Christian forums often have a rule against questioning their belief at all, and doing so is a bannable offense.

All christian forums I know of have not questioning belief or dogma in their TOS. Which makes a visit there rather useless, since what would I talk about there? I never was interested anyway, since as opposed to some of our resident theists, I don't feel the compulsion for missionary work.

You can absolutely question other people's beliefs. I spent the first 5 years of my on line work doing that very thing. To the point where people have dropped their old beliefs and went in a new direction. They have no issue with this. They just want things done respectfully, and done with a modicum of tolerance for those who hold the beliefs you question.

What most 'atheist' on 'Christian forums' didn't/don't get is their base line arguments defile the integrity of the believer in some way. Meaning the general charge is one of ignorance/in ablity to reason or they default to some sort of fallacy.

If you can not approach someone and openly discuss their faith without tracing out a base line argument that calls them an idiot then the fault is yours.

Now granted here you can call someone an idiot, but again you truly are one if you can have a civil conversation in this format.

I'm pretty sure we don't ban religious folks for their beliefs. It's just that they stop coming after 1 or 2 posts. Just when I was warming up for a good debate.
