Pretty much predicted the 2016 American election and the Brexit bull-shit. The problem is, we're going to have to cross our fingers that the littlest of damage has been done and hopefully fix it before things are too late. The UK has been told it will have to relax its immigration rules for Australians if it wants a free trade deal with Canberra.

Alexander Downer, Australia's high commissioner to the UK, said the country would want better access for business people working in the UK before reaching a post-Brexit deal.

He said it might be possible to strike a deal within eight months of Brexit.

Preliminary moves over a possible agreement had been made, he added.

UK Prime Minister Theresa May has already said she will begin talks to strike a trade deal with New Zealand in the coming months.

Mr Downer told BBC Radio 4's Today programme that Australia's access for businesses had often been a part of its free trade negotiations.

"It might just make it a bit simpler actually," he said.

"For example, an Australian company that invests in the UK might want to bring some of its executives to the UK.
"That can be done with what are called tier 2 visas, but maybe that could be made a little bit easier.

"I suspect they would be the only sort of changes you'd be looking at."

You've a problem there Iro, when Charles ascends to the throne the Commonwealth'll break up. Most of the countries which still count Brenda as head of state don't want anything to do with him.

I think you mean the country will be successful. You just want this country to fail for some reason. It's good that we're finally breaking free from the shackles of the EU.

We're first in line for a trade deal with the US and Trump is talking about large tariffs on German cars, so it's nice to see the Germans might finally get taught a lesson again.

Look at it this way the EU was very successful in its primary purpose of so entangling european countries finances that they would never go to war again. By removing that entanglement war is more likely.
Our financial bodies were so strong because we were the worlds foot step to the union so that will go and the financial sector made up a vast swathe of our national income.
Oh and we will still have to comply with all the EUs rules in order to do trade with them at all, however we have now relinquished any say in those rules.
Prices have already gone up for things we import and that's before we leave the EU, just think how expensive tomatoes will be in a few years when the reality bites.
We will find it harder to sell to Europe as we will not have free trade so our goods will be more expensive, especially if we have to import any part of the goods we are making, like any raw materials or fuel because if you think the pound is devalued now you wait till brexit actually happens.
Oh and I liked being European, how would you like it if someone said we've had a vote and you can no longer be Scottish.
In summary, England will still be here but will probably lose Scotland and maybe northern Ireland to independence.
It will be a poorer place with fewer jobs. We are already much further down the list of wealthy nations than we were, and brexit may lead to the disintegration of an economic power, with all the world ending danger that entails.
Remember when the soviet block crumbled, of course you don't you are a child, but that's the sort of scenario we are looking at.
We are definitely screwed.

The UK government has said that comments made by Gerry Adams that Brexit will "destroy the Good Friday Agreement" are "totally without any basis in fact."

A spokesperson said the provisions set out in the Belfast Agreement are not undermined by the decision to leave the EU.

The statement added that there would be "no return to the borders of the past".

The Sinn Féin President made the remarks at a conference on Saturday.

His comments were criticised by Ulster Unionist Party MLA Doug Beattie who called on Mr Adams to "explain exactly what he means".

Outlining plans for the UK leaving the EU on Tuesday, Prime Minister Theresa May said Brexit means leaving the European Customs Union.

Jeremy Corbyn's awkward squad of pro-EU rebels have written to Theresa May opposing a "hard Brexit" and threatening to vote against her final deal.

Days after the Labour leader was forced to back down on a vow to force his MPs to vote for triggering Article 50, his rebels have defied him once again.

The rebels' leader, Chuka Umunna, says he won't vote against triggering Article 50, but he may vote against the final Brexit deal in a vote now promised by the Prime Minister.

In their letter, 43 Labour MPs accuse Mrs May of threatening to pull Britain out of the European Union without any trade agreement having been reached.

The MPs include Labour's former deputy leader Harriet Harman, two members of the Brexit Select Committee, and two members of the current Labour frontbench.

And 15 of the 43 signatories - 35% of them - represent constituencies that voted to leave the European Union, similar to the percentage of Labour voters who voted Out.

The Supreme Court will rule later whether Parliament or ministers have the power to begin the Brexit process.

The landmark judgement, to be announced at 09:30 GMT, will decide how the EU's Article 50 exit clause is triggered.

The government argues that ministers have the power - but opponents say they need Parliament's approval to start the two years of negotiations.

If ministers lose the appeal, they will have to ask Parliament to vote on legislation which triggers Article 50.

The outcome of the Supreme Court case, heard by all 11 justices over four days in December, will not overturn the referendum result but determine which course towards leaving the EU is lawful.

Prime Minister Theresa May has said she wants to invoke Article 50 - formally notifying the rest of the EU of the UK's decision to leave - by the end of March, setting in train negotiations over the terms of the UK's exit.
